"What I’d Rather Be Doing" by Kjersti Faret
A personal piece. Watercolor, gouache and ink.
This was created because I was feeling stressed. I needed to make a picture about what I’d rather be doing than preparing to graduate, doing tedious written humanities homework, seeing the buildings outside my window, etc. (Sometimes I feel like I’m a country girl trapped in the city)
Also, hello color. I haven’t seen you in a while.
I’ve finally finished my first mini-comic ( well, my first “real” comic in general). It is titled “Danny Boy” after the Irish song that inspired it.
I have developed a very strong attachment to this song over the past year. After listening to this song on repeat many times, a story and images developed in my brain. Now I’ve finally recorded it on paper, in a zine which you can find on etsy.
It is wordless and faceless. There is a lot of meaning behind the story and imagery for me, but I suppose I’ll leave it up to your interpretation.
* There is a 3 page excerpt from the middle of the comic in this post. If you’d like to read the entire comic, you can find it here.

Only a few are in the shop right now. I’m saving most of them for MoCCA Fest in early April so you can get them there too!
